Gathering Together – Just Different

Image
We have an interesting opportunity to gathering together – just different. With the technology we now have, it is possible any day and at any time to reach out and "visit" with someone. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. I am reading in the book of Romans. Hahahah I am not very far, still in chapter 1 - but hey! There is good "food" here! Romans 1 Verse 8 – Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you. Verse 12 – When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours . I enjoy how the Lord points out gratitude and thankfulness often in scriptures. The Bible often tells us to be thankful for things. I sometimes forget to thank Him for the “people” in my life. I end up thanking Him for things, events, situations… but somehow, I forget about the simple preciousness of thanking Him for people. The next thing that jumped out at me, w...

The Privilege In A Gift

Image
Sometimes, we are given a gift, that is meant to be shared. The bigger blessing comes from not keeping it all to ourselves, but sharing it with anyone we can. Romans 1:5 S - Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey Him, bringing glory to His name. T – In this verse “privilege and authority” popped out at me. It is a gift from God Himself that we have this privilege to share the Good News and Truth about Jesus! We are not only given the chance to “enjoy” this gift, but we are given “authority” to share it with others. What strikes me is how we treat this “gift” from Him. I know some people that receive a ‘gift’ and are very careful with it. Others shake it before they open it! Some take their time relishing each and every part of the gift’s outer decorations and wrapping paper in the opening process. Others, rip into it not even noticing the outer deco...

No Law Against These Things

Image
03.19.20 Teatime With Jesus – No Law Against These Galatians 5:22-23 NLT – 22  But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,   23  gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! TPT – 22–23  But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy  that overflows , peace  that subdues , patience  that endures , kindness  in action , a life full of virtue, faith  that prevails , gentleness  of heart , and strength  of spirit . Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless. MSG – 22-23  But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense o...

Storms and Sun

Ever have one of those days, where the verse that pops up on your screen FITS just perfectly? Have you ever had it happen TWO days in a row?! Well, that is just what happened to me today and yesterday. We are going through some changes here in our home, with our physical things as well as our personal things. Some things are changing with family and friends as well. There are even some changes in the air with our work and finances. As I was having tea with Jesus, my hearts prayer kept leaping back to our “issues” and what is my part in them and what should I be doing. Well, as this happened yesterday, Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT) popped up on my BibleGateway page on my computer. Isaiah 55:8-9   NLT   “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the  Lord . “And My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.” As I read this, ...

No Need To Fear

Image
03.16.20 Teatime With Jesus – No Need To Fear Joshua 1:9 NLT – “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the  Lord  your God is with you wherever you go.” MSG – “Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged.  God , your God, is with you every step you take.” NASB – “Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous!  Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the  Lord  your God is with you wherever you go.” Wow! How perfect is this verse from our Lord?!?! With all that is going on in our world today, this just seems to put it all back into perspective. My Hubby and I have been gone on a cruise for the last week. When we left America, there was a “little” panic of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). People were having a mob mentality and panicking. Little did we know, while we were on board, out to sea, away from any cell service – the world went mad with panic! Clos...
