Gathering Together – Just Different
We have an interesting opportunity to gathering together – just different. With the technology we now have, it is possible any day and at any time to reach out and "visit" with someone.
May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace
and peace.
I am reading in the book of Romans. Hahahah I am not very far, still in chapter 1 - but hey! There is good "food" here!
Romans 1
Verse 8 – Let me say first that I thank my God
through Jesus Christ for all of you.
Verse 12 – When we get together, I want to encourage you in
your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
I enjoy how
the Lord points out gratitude and thankfulness often in scriptures. The Bible
often tells us to be thankful for things. I sometimes forget to thank Him for
the “people” in my life. I end up thanking Him for things, events, situations…
but somehow, I forget about the simple preciousness of thanking Him for people.
The next
thing that jumped out at me, was “gathering together”. Today, we are on ‘social
distancing’ – but we can still get together. For sure in spirit, but also in
this day and age with the technology we have, we can get together “in person”
via any number of video messaging systems. I like Zoom, and Facebook Messenger.
I’ve also used the iPhones Facetime. I laugh at times, thinking just how much
we ARE living like The Jetsons lol
Gathering together is mentioned a LOT in
the Bible!! It is one of the most important things for us as humans to do. It
is in isolation that the enemy throws flaming arrows at us and our weaknesses.
He and his army are ‘pros’ at knowing us. They study us, like any good army
would. So, the only way to throw them off their game, is to “gather together”!
It is numbers that there is strength. In numbers, there is shared experiences.
In numbers there is wisdom. In numbers there is more giving and receiving. In
numbers we are built up and made strong.
Today, I am
praying that the Lord will bless you with ideas of ways to “gather together”
with others. Look for people that you can encourage and lift up – they will do
the same for you. We may be on ‘lock down’ from going out and spreading or
carrying germs around (or getting them) – but we are NOT ‘locked down’ from
gathering together – it is just in a different way ;-)
Be well my
friend. Be safe. I KNOW you will be blessed!! Until we are ‘gathered together’
again – know that I am praying for you. <3
