2 Timothy 1:8-9 "8 So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for Him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News. 9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time—to show us His grace through Christ Jesus."
What jumped out at me today, was that we are NEVER to be ashamed or afraid to share Jesus with others! And that God saved us and called us to live a holy life - NOT because we deserve it, but because it is His plan for us! He LOVES to show us grace, mercy and forgiveness - ALL thru Jesus Christ! So, when we see someone doing something we feel worthy of praise, we can tell them, thank you and God bless you - and NOT be ashamed or afraid! When someone is doing something that the Holy Spirit nudges us to "speak up" about - we can with confidence in that moment too!
Now, living a 'holy life' and living a 'perfect life' are two different things! To live holy, is to be thinking of Jesus in all of our thoughts and actions. The phrase WWJD comes to mind - however, yes, we ARE human, and we ARE selfish! So, there are days, times, and moments when our selfishness takes over and rules our decisions - oops!! Ok - here is the example that just came across my minds eye: being married. When we are married, we ARE married. If we wake up at different times, or are away from our spouse on a business trip... are we "less" or "not" married because we are not "with" our spouse at that moment?!?! NO!! Of course not!! When we accepted Jesus' gift of salvation, we ARE forgiven and we HAVE salvation! We ARE HOLY - however, we just don't always act like the children of a King like we should. You and I are children of the Great and Almighty King! We are NOT holy on our own, no way! But because God looks at us thru the lens of Jesus - He sees us as good, pure, and holy! I'm SO thankful that He is in charge and not me. Today, lets thank our Heavenly Father for things that He has done and or provided for us. Go thru the ABC's and thank Him for something that starts with each letter - yes, you can be creative if need be. Be blessed, be brave as you share your praises of, to and for God!
