Correcting Stuff in Our Lives
2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”
Have you ever wondered why, when you read scripture that you've read before, that it takes on new meaning OR you see/hear it differently than you did before? It's because it is the very breath of God! God, the ultimate, perfect Father, uses scripture to teach us. Teaching does something: it exposes truth. Truth ALWAYS of & about God, Jesus, &/or the Holy Spirit! Teaching right from wrong. Teaching us where we are, at that very moment. If we are open & willing - every day is a new day in Gods word!
Sometimes, we are doing or have been doing something a certain way, for a long time. Then one day, we read something and we "realize what is wrong in our lives" - that's how much God loves us & cares for us! He is patient & kind, gently guiding us and leading us to do what is right. I for one, am VERY thankful for this! I am thankful Jesus is the Savior, not me! I have followed MANY a wrong path in my days... Following Jesus, may be hard at times. We may lose friends or family members. We may suffer in many areas in our lives: our jobs, our home, with friends, with family.... We may be judged & treated unfairly. However, Jesus suffered WAY more, and yet WILLINGLY did so, with YOU (& me) in mind! Following Jesus & what God teaches thru scriptures, is the BEST way to live! We are all still children at heart, and we like boundaries. Yes, we like to tests & push them, but He always has the Holy Spirit guide, nudge, & direct us in & with truth!
Today, as you read His word, or as you pray on your way to work: ask God to reveal His truth in your life. Expose any areas that need to be 'cleaned up'. Realize any area that is wrong in our life. Then, pray that the Holy Spirit guides & directs you in the 'right way' to what is right. I'm praying for you to be brave today! That you will boldly take a step (where no man has gone before - LOL - brain jump) in the right direction & do what is right. :-) Don't be sour, or rebellious. Accept His boundaries - they are there for a reason, GOOD reasons! Be well & blessed today my friend.
