Which Side of Justice Are You On?

Proverbs‬ ‭29:15 & 17, 8-11, 14, 20, 22-23, 25, 26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Verse 15 & 17: A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother.    Discipline your children, and they will give you peace; they will bring you the delights you desire.

Verse 8-11: Mockers stir up a city, but the wise turn away anger. If a wise person goes to court with a fool, the fool rages and scoffs, and there is no peace. The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity and seek to kill the upright. Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
Verse 14: If a king judges the poor with fairness, his throne will be established forever.
Verse 20: Do you see someone who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for them.
Verse 22-23: An angry person stirs up conflict, and a hot-tempered person commits many sins. Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.
Verse 25: Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.
Verse 26: Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the LORD that one gets justice.”
‭‭
Well, these two sections I thought needed to be on their own, because of how they spoke to me today. Verses 15 & 17 are really about us and our children and grandchildren. I have seen too many children that are basically left on their own to fend for themselves, or to "parent" themselves. Well, we all know, we are born with selfish desires, so this really will NOT work out well. Kids are selfish, greedy, undisciplined, and even unmotivated, prone to sin and lie - so, to let them run-amuck, is just going to get worse and worse. Interesting thing here - God points out that it is the "mother" that will experience 'disgrace'. Yes, fathers do to, but for different reasons than a mom. For some reason, when kids are younger (all through school), their actions and behaviors are a 'reflection of the mother'. Then when they are older, graduating school and going in to the work force, they are a 'reflection of the father'. Strange, but true. It is our job as parents and grandparents, to uphold scripture, and to train our children, be an example, and share God's truth with them. We are not to spank without cause or reason, but to correct and teach them in the way they should go. Discipline, is the 'safe boundary' that kids all want and need. It is up to us to proved this to and for them.

The other verses - well, these hit me for someone we know going through some issues that involve court. The person they are having to contend with, is the "mocker, fool, bloodthirsty, hasty, angry, hot-tempered, prideful" person mentioned in these verses. Yes, there has been some fear and worry surrounding the days in court - however, these verses, show God's mercy on the righteous, trusting, wise, person with integrity, calmness, upright, and lowly in spirit. PLUS, added bonus: God is the ultimate King that is also the ultimate Judge, and He WILL judge the actions and words of this other person and their family that are all involved in the same behavior and actions as well as words. The very last verse, talks of "getting an audience with a ruler" yet, confirms and gives a promise, that our real "Justice Maker" is the Lord. Pretty amazing!!
If you are in a situation where you need to go before a judge for some reason, you can claim and hang on to these verses too. Truth is your key. It's what to hang on to, as well as what to pray for and trust that the Lord WILL prevail and provide for you. Yes, you can pray Verse 14 - that the judge you have will judge with fairness, but then you should also add a prayer for the judge "that his/her seat will be established". I have seen with my own eyes, a couple of times, God move in a courtroom, in ways totally unexpected by the majority of people in there. However, I KNEW our God was bigger, and had more power than anyone in that room. That He was the One that ultimately appointed the judge, as well as orchestrating the lawyers and such for that room, that day, at that time!

Today, if you are facing a battle that is in court, take courage, do not fear - God is in control. I ask that you DO start praying for all involved though. Yourself, your lawyer, and the judge. If there is a jury, then them too. If you are going through a battle, that will not end up in court, but feels just as big and hard - take courage too! You can pray these verses over your situation as well. God is a God that honors us when we seek and turn to Him - and He DELIGHTS in blessing us, providing for us, and making a way of escape for us! Really, He does!! I know this first hand! Praise God if you are NOT having to experience something like listed above. We do not need to fear 'man' - but just trust in God. Remember, to put on your full armor of God, each and every day - that makes a BIG difference too, in our view of things, people and situations. I pray you are at peace with God in the Judges seat - and that you praise Him for all He has provided and done on your behalf, daily. Be safe and well, know that you are loved, protected, and watched over. <3
