NOT Live Like the Wild, Wild West
Psalms 11:1-7 NLT I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, "Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety! The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right. The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?" But the Lord is in His holy Temple; the Lord still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth. The Lord examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence. He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds. For the righteous Lord loves justice. The virtuous will see His face.
Well, this kind of sounds like our world today. People afraid of the 'bad people' around us. So many people trying to go hide underground, off the grid, and where they 'think' they are safe from harm. Yet, even if the enemy ends up ruling over us all, God is still Ruler over them! He gives everyone SO many opportunities to do what is right and choose to follow Him, and accept His gift of salvation. The Lord STILL watches over everything and everyone. There is no darkness to Him, He sees perfectly clear into the hearts of everyone, at all times, day and night. This is how He examines us. Not in a tyrant, lord over us way, but in a loving and just way. There WILL be a day, when we ALL will stand before Him, and have to answer for our actions and choices. I am not sure if this is what will happen here on earth, as they live: "He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds." Or if this is at the time of death and judgment. Either way, it will be pretty painful and cause someone to really think twice about their life. However, when we ask ourselves or run around in a panic thinking "The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?" It is really NOT our job to do anything about it in the first place. Yes, we need to have law and order, and have people in positions of authority over us, but we are not to take it in our own hands, like in the old days of the Wild Wild West.
The promise at the end of this chapter, "The virtuous will see His face" is something that has been held back from everyone here on earth, since Adam and Eve: we will actually SEE the face of God in heaven after we die and are cleared to enter base on the Book of Life! Wow!! So, while we DO need to obey the laws, and those in authority over us - we have hope and a promise, that we need not fear if it seems everything around us is collapsing, because God IS in control! Thank goodness!! :-)
I'm praying for you today, to NOT worry about all of the stuff happening around us and our world today. Trust and believe that God has it all under control. For evil WILL be punished, and those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior, WILL be rewarded! :-) For God LOVES justice, and He will make sure justice prevails, here on earth as well as before entering heaven. I'm praying for your ability to endure the struggles that come your way today. Just take one day at a time, don't worry about tomorrow, or yesterday (that cannot change anyway) - just focus your strength, passion, and abilities on today. Be well, be blessed, KNOW that you ARE loved!! <3
