Believe You CAN Be Transformed
Psalm 106:8, 12-13, 39, 43-45
Vs 8: “Yet He saved them for His name’s sake, to make His mighty power known."
Vs 12-13: "Then they believed His promises and sang His praise. But they soon forgot what He had done and did not wait for His plan to unfold."
Vs 39: "They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves."
Vs 43-45: "Many times He delivered them, but they were bent on rebellion and they wasted away in their sin. Yet He took note of their distress when He heard their cry; for their sake He remembered His covenant and out of His great love He relented.”
The Cliff Note History Lesson continues.... Today, the Lord does the same thing with us! Things happen to, around, or with us - not for our sake really, but for His names sake! To show His great and mighty power! Vs 12-13 is soooooooo us in our day!! God does something miraculous and we 'raise the roof' with praising Him.... then.... we forget. Then we rush headfirst into other circumstances NOT waiting for Him or His plan. Oops! Verse 39 OUCH!!! Big time ouch! Boy! I see just how many times I've been a Gomer towards God! I defile my own self, and prostitute myself to satisfy my own selfish wants! How I chose to treat myself, His creation, with such disrespect and contempt. By following my selfish desires to do, eat, see, think... whatever I wanted. I think this is where the phrase 'selling your soul to the devil' comes from. Hmm. Now, when I was a new Christian, I would have believed that my 'thoughts' and or 'actions' of just THINKING of my own ways, would have separated me from God - but that's a LIE!!! Even when we defile ourselves, even when we run away, even when we fall in a pit.... like verses 43-45, He shows great love, mercy, and compassion and rescues us! Forgives us! Accepts us! His love knows NO bounds!! From what I read and understand in scripture: NOTHING can separate us from His love! No one can snatch us out of His hands! The ONLY sin, that can NOT be forgiven, and CAN cost us our salvation - is denying Christ. God KNOWS our heart and soul. He can and will rescue us, even then, "if" we cry out to Him! Wow! SO amazing!!
Today, let's throw away our defiled rags, our prostitute clothes: doubt, fear, worry, shame, stress, regret, over-indulgence, anger, hatred, lying, stealing, cursing..... and ask Jesus to clothe us in our clean, fresh, white garments - the rightful stature as daughters of the King! Allow the Holy Spirit to flow over you and cover you like many servants dressing, cleaning, tending over you. Just hold out your arms and breathe.
Oh Sister Friend, Daughter - even when we mess up, He allows us to come before Him, ANY time!! We don't have to wait for permission or to be summoned - we can enter His 'chamber' ANY time (yes, I have a beautiful visual right here). He LOVES you and wants the BEST for you! Don't you just want to be that little girl, spinning in a flowing dress, before her Daddy, that smiles as He watches and has love beaming out all over her?!?! Do it! Spin! Twirl! Laugh! Fall down and cry if need be - either way, He is ready to scoop you up and love on you like never before!! Just like verse 45: He will hear and He will relent.
