How To Let Go
Psalm 19:12-13a "But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep Your servant also from willful sins, may they not rule over me."
Plasm 19:14 "May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."
This is the prayer of my heart today. Asking God, my Father, to forgive me of anything I am hiding. Especially from myself. I know I used to be a "pro" at it LOL I was also a "pro" at doing things impulsively, which lead to many unwise choices!! When we can ask Him to gently show us where we are off track, He allows the Holy Spirit to do just that! Yes, sometimes, it is with a much stronger hand than others, but it is ALWAYS for our best! Just as we would do for our children or grandchildren even. For their sake.
Verse 13 hit me like a ton of bricks! I've read this a gazillion times, yet, it just jumped out at me to ask that my "willful sins NOT have rule over me". Well, that is exactly where I was before with my weight and poor choices! The food and fat, fried stuff "ruled" me! Through a LOT of prayer, and MANY blessing from God, those choices are not my first reaction any more, and they do NOT rule and guide my decisions any longer. Can I let my guard down? NO WAY!!! I still have to pray this prayer for myself. As with any addition someone may have, it is a part of our daily warfare, that is why we MUST put on the full armor of God each and every day!! Because, just like each day is a brand new day for us to have and start fresh - the enemy also starts up with new and fresh tricks to trip us up! WE can only fight him off, through the power of Jesus, through prayer, through wearing His armor!
Verse 14 is then our anthem, our song that our heart can sing! We have a reason for our prayers and our praise - to be pleasing to the Lord. He is our Rock and our Redeemer! May you be blessed today. I pray you are brave and ask Him to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal things that you may be hiding, or even ignoring - especially from yourself. I pray, that today, you KNOW you ARE loved, and that you ARE worth being free from any sins that keep tripping you up! YOU ARE!! <3 <3
