What Does Your Foundation Look Like

Proverbs 24:3-4 "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures."

Have you read the book "The Prayer Cottage" or "The Shack"? Well, in both of these books, it brings this verse to life. As I read it, a MEF (minds eye flash) happened. I realized it was partly what God was showing me right now, and partly from both of those books. Seeing the ground being scooped up and corner posts and cement being put down first, to make a good foundation. Then as knowledge was filling up my insides, the foundation of the house started expanding. As I started to see this "house" coming together, board by board, brick by brick - I started to feel like I understood that the foundation and the cement base was the bible. What I can touch and see. Yet, somehow, as the walls started to come together, and the "foundation" and inner parts of the posts and walls started to be hidden, I realized this was God's words being hidden inside each of us. As the "movie" of this house coming together kept going, I saw and felt the place being filled with 'things' but also 'feelings'. Peace, comfort, mercy, grace, understanding, wisdom, joy, kindness, patience.... It was like, each piece of the home that started coming together and be 'finished', a new gift was being given to me. Then, as the rooms started to "fill up" with things, even though I could see 'stuff' they each had emotions, feelings, character attached to them. Each one delicate and yet sturdy. Beautiful and rare yet hold-able and touchable.

As I was ushered in to each room, it seemed to represent a different time in my life. It was as if, the Holy Spirit was my own personal foreman, giving me my "walk through". Holding me when needed, and carrying me when needed. Moments when I was young and unable to fully understand what was going on around or to me. In each 'room' the treasures that were there that represented my life, were precious, valuable, glowing with radiance! Even the hard moments in my life, in these rooms, had an inviting, warm, and gracious feeling about them. I could actually walk in and "feel" the peace and comfort. The way the Lord worked things out through those moments. Each and every one, a rare and wonderful treasure!

These inner rooms were not scary or overwhelming or depressing! Even though in my own human understanding, I seem to try to keep holding on to the 'negative' feelings of these experiences.... God has them in His hands which are FULL of love, grace, forgiveness, mercy, healing... His hands carry us through the "house" we are all created to be. His temple. I believe, the Holy Spirit is the only Tour Guide that could walk each of us through our own "house" and keep us from feeling overwhelmed. It is through wisdom and understanding, that our "house" keeps getting additions added to it. Adding up and out.... Oh my goodness!!!! The mansion that He is preparing for us in heaven!!! Oh my goodness!!! It is THIS! Our life and experiences - all turned to treasure, blessings, wisdom, understanding..... Oh my goodness!! Well, now that puts a different spin on things, doesn't it?!?! I am going to have to have some one-on-one time with Jesus on this thought :-)

I pray that today, you seek His wisdom by reading His word. Asking the Holy Spirit to guide you in understanding. Then, I pray, that you will see your "house" fill up with wonderful and amazing treasures! Be safe, be blessed, and be well today! Love ya!
