It Is Time To Toss Out The Trash

James 1:19-21 "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls."

This is all so important for us to remember, and do! The verses all tie together for our good. The one that jumped out to me was "So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives" - and what jumped into my heart on this, was all of the 'hidden' filth and evil we have in our lives. Like, the way we talk in our head. Both towards others and towards ourselves. The thoughts that we hang on to, internally, that contribute to "dirty laundry". It doesn't matter that no-one else knows, because the One who DOES know, is God (and ourselves of course) - and He did NOT create you and I to be this way! Especially towards ourselves!

How to get rid of these dirty, filthy things? First of all, by replacing the unhealthy, negative things with positive, growing, healthy things. Words of affirmation to and about yourself! That's a GREAT place to start! Don't know where to start, or how to find things that are good and worthy things about yourself? Ask someone in your life. They will tell you a few. Write them down. Of course, ask God to reveal some things - then read His word, and He will have things jump out at you, about you. Write those down. Of course, open your heart in prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal some truths and positive things about you - and He will!! Write those down. Now, keep that list with you. In your phone under 'notes' on an index card, make a picture and save it to your phone... anything, any place, where you can access it quickly when needed. Now, every morning - look yourself in the mirror and read those things out loud to yourself. Yes, do it! Then later in the day, when you have a negative thought or feeling low - pull it out and read it again, say it out loud too if you can. God WILL plant the right things in your heart, when you let Him. When you read His word and ask for it to become part of you - it will! This is His planting in our very soul His power that will save us. Save us from ourselves if nothing else LOL

I am praying for you today, and that you will start your journey to 'saving grace' by our wonderful and amazing Father who REALLY does want the best for you!!
