Trust His Instructions

Exodus 4:11-12 Then the Lord asked Moses, "Who makes a person's mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say."

Chapter 4 is an interesting story of Moses and God interacting. Much like we act today with God LOL He instructs us to do something, and we shoot back with our doubts and concerns. Perhaps we even make a list of our flaws, and insist that He use someone else. What struck me in this chapter and chapters 5-7 as well, is that God had plans to move and work/speak through Moses. Just Moses. However, God being the gracious and merciful Father that He is - He allowed Moses to share his concerns and doubts. And like a father to an insistent child, that just doesn't see around the corners of life yet - God said "ok - I'll talk through you AND Aaron". God changed His plans and His "tools" that He had in mind, to let Moses be comfortable. However, with that came several prices to pay, that I don't think would have been there if Moses just trusted what God told him in verse 12 "Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say."

How many times do we do this to God too?!?! We feel and or hear Him instructing us to go and do or say something, and we pull back. Fear and doubt creep in because we are looking at ourselves with human eyes. God is looking at us and the things He wants to accomplish in ans around us, through spiritual eyes. Divine eyes. I feel SOOOOO unworthy to share my weight loss journey as well as my Bible readings!!! Me?!?! Who am I?!?! No one special, no training, no special abilities.... I'm just me, Lisa Marie. However, I believe His words are true! For ALL of us! His promises to us that He is with us, no matter what! Through every circumstance, in all of our conversations, through our study times.... He is the one that guides us, our actions, and our speech. When we trust His ability and power to do the things He says He can and will do - well....then it happens! LOL Not always in the timing that our brain can comprehend - but in His timing, His perfect timing. Yes, even when we mess up, and hold back (like Moses did) - God gives us an Aaron too! However, even with that 'change in plans' BEWARE!! If you know the story of Moses and Aaron, it was Aaron that lead the people astray by making a golden calf when Moses was on the mountain with God. Aaron, on his own, had a few mishaps along the way - but God worked them out anyway! I am SO thankful that He works through, with and around us simple human beings LOL

Today, when you hear the Lord speaking in your heart and ears to do or say something - and you question it, because of your abilities or lack there of - remember this: God IS with you! God WILL guide and direct you. More importantly: He WILL be opening the ears, eyes, and heart of the person He is trying to reach through you! Be brave when you are uncertain. Be calm when you are full of fear. Be willing when you feel inadequate. Trust. Believe.
