What Kind Of Words Do You Share
Proverbs 27:5 "A spoken reprimand is better than approval that's never expressed."
Have you ever heard the expression, "Any attention is better than no attention" or how about "publicity is publicity no matter if it is good or bad - it is still publicity." This verse reminds me of several people we know, that share their past as NOT having love expressed in the home by their family or parents. They confess that they WANTED love and affection SO badly, that they acted out and misbehaved - because then their parents actually paid attention to them. Sad.
God's design is for us to want and seek each other. Companionship. Relationship. I think this is why it is so hard for some people to believe and understand that the relationship with Jesus is NOT like ANY human relationship we know, see, or experience here on earth! Nothing can compare to His great love! We are ALL created in His image - and that image is perfect. Yes, I know, none of us are perfect (even though some would like to 'think' they are LOL) - but the 'perfect' He is like, is in our actions, words, feelings, understanding, wisdom, relationships, and even our responses to things and people. Can we be perfect? Not really. Should we still strive for it? Of course! Why? Because it isn't for us or our glory - but to point others to Jesus and God's glory! If someone has never had the 'approval' of their family or parents and they come to know Jesus - WOWZERS! That relationship is WAY better than anything or anyone they have EVER experienced!!
God chooses us to be His adopted children. He gives us the best gift ever - salvation in and through Jesus. Because Jesus took the place for us on the cross, died for us - went to hell for us - we CAN trust and believe, that He is showing and giving us the biggest and best approval of His love ever! He expresses His love and affection to us each and every day! How? Through His word, the bible. Then, with the things around us. We have breath and wake up to have another gift of another day. We have sky to look at along with the beauty of His creation around us - Each. And. Every. Day. He is trying to get our attention in big and small ways by the things around us. We do have to slow down and "smell the roses" so to speak.
Today, I encourage you to look for ways to share encouragement to those around you in your life. First to your family. Then at work. Then as you come across the path of someone you don't know. You never know, your kindness and encouraging words may be the ONLY 'approval' they have today. Lets be the hands, feet, words, and actions of Jesus to another person today. After all, the saying of "you may be the only Jesus some will ever see" is so very true! Be well, be safe, and KNOW that you are loved!!
