When I Am Weak, He Is Strong
Psalms 73:25-26
NLV - Whom have I in heaven but You? I desire You more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and me spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever.
MSG - You're all I want in heaven! You're all I want on earth! When my skin sags and my bones get brittle, God is rock-firm and faithful.
This is the cry of my heart. How I pray to be and feel every day. I do forget sometimes, but this is my normal way of thinking of things and putting God first in my day/life. I LOVE how direct the Message version puts it! LOL 'when my skin sags and my bones get brittle' - isn't that the truth of "getting more mature"?! The thing that jumped out at me in these verses, is that God remains the same. No matter what our circumstances, or any situation we are in, God remains the same. Honest, true, faithful, just, loving, kind, gentle, patient.... Only God is all of these things, all of the time! Yes, we are to strive to be like Jesus, and shine like this towards others. However, even when we are at our lowest and or are in our darkest hours - He is faithful and true and is holding us in His hands as we trust in Him to carry us through. God is the strength of our heart and soul. God is our rock-firm innermost being, and He is faithful - always! When we are low or weak, He is strong and faithful!
Today, it may seem like God is far away, or not even around to hear your voice, but He is right there! Holding you in His arms, not just walking beside you, but carrying you through whatever it is you are going through. Having a hard time in life? Having a good time in life? Either way, when we trust that God has a plan for all of it, and that He is working things out around us - then we can relax and be strengthened by that truth, because He is faithful and He is our strength. Is God all you want? Is God your strength? Ask Him to be, and He will do and be that for you! Start by praising Him for something in your life that follows the ABC's. Start with something that starts with an A, and then go to B and so on... You need to be creative on a few letters, but it's a fun way to show God, that you ARE thankful for Him, and that will help Him become your all-in-all. Have a GREAT day!
