Peace Comes Through Praise

Psalm 7:17 ”I thank the Lord for His justice; I sing praises to the Lord, the Most High.”

This says it plain and simple. Here is a verse we can add to are “Prayer Book/List” under praying for justice. I have claimed this verse a few times, in the process of something going on that needed God’s judgment and His authority. I praise Him for how He will work it out, yes, before it is even worked out. Then, I can’t help but add praises to my “thank God through the ABC’s” for things in my life.

If you haven’t thanked God for things in your life, even the things you don’t understand right now, I suggest you go through the ABC’s and thank God for something that starts with each letter of the alphabet.

Even if you are struggling in life right now, you can do this:

Father, I’m in a tough spot, but I know You are still worthy to be praised and thanked for things. Allow Your Holy Spirit to help me praise you for things, here and now, through the ABC’s.

A – Thank You God for apples.

B – Father, thank You for the birds chirping outside my window.

C – Coffee. Lord, thank you for coffee (me it’s tea).

D – Decisions. Thank You that You will help me make decisions in what is ahead.

E – enlightenment – thank You Father for enlightening me by Your words.

F – Family – thank You for my family.

G – thank You for the green lights on the way to work.

H – thank You for helping me.

I – thank You for my ice maker.

J – thank You for being the One who gives justice.

K – I am thankful for kale.

L – I am thankful for lemons.

M – thank You Lord for my meals.

N – my name, thank You that I have a name.

O – thank you for the accidental tuning in to hear an amazing opera voice.

P – thank You for the people in my life.

Q – thank You Lord for the peace and quiet that I get for a few minutes in the morning before starting my day.

R – rest – thank You for rest even when it only comes in bits and pieces.

S – Father, thank You for helping people invent soft fabric for my clothes and bedding.

T – thank You Father for blessing me with Todd.

U – I am utterly thankful for U’r amazing gifts that I am so underserving of. Really though, thank You God for understanding my crazy humor. Ok, I am thankful for our protectors that wear uniforms.

V – violins. Thank You for the beautiful sounds of violins.

W – drinkable water is such a gift, thank You.

X – (think creatively here) Father God, thank You for Your x-cellence in all that You do.

Y – yellow – thank You for creating the color yellow. Thank You that it is my favorite color.

Z – Again, thank You for giving someone the ability to invent the zipper. I am thankful that my clothes have zippers.

There you go. Short, simple, easy things to thank God for in our day and life. I do this while I am driving. Some days, I use the ABC’s to thank God for different things about someone in my life. Like my husband, our family, friends, my job… true, some letters I have to be VERY creative in thinking of something that starts with that letter LOL Sometimes, I skip a letter and come back to it when something pops in my head. The thing is, to just be thankful and praise God for things. Even if we don’t understand them. Have a GREAT rest of your day! I’m praying for you. Be safe today, be well, and be blessed.
