Do You Want To Win - Get Strong In Wisdom

Proverbs 24:5-6 "5 Being wise is better than being strong; yes, knowledge is more important than strength. 6 After all, you must make careful plans before you fight a battle, and the more good advice you get, the more likely you are to win.

 Well, who would have thought that everyday life is a "battle"?!?! But, in reality, it is! These verses couldn't have come at a better time for me!! I MUST (we MUST) make careful plans before we go into the daily fight of our life. For me, first, it is prayer and some time with Jesus ;-) Then for my day, it is planning what foods and meals I will be having. I pack my lunch bag for the day, and then throw in a couple of extras just in case I work late, or something else comes up after work that is unexpected. 

 I believe strength is measured in several ways. Of course physically, but mentally, emotionally, socially, and even knowledge wise - these areas can all be strengthened each and every day. One way I am working on my 'wisdom' is to read more. I am making it a practice to set a timer and read for 45 minutes. When the timer goes off, I then can either choose to read some more, or do something else that needs strengthening. 

 Have a conversation today with the Lord. Ask Him to open your eyes, ears, heart, mind and soul to an area that you can work on "getting knowledge" and preparing for any battle that may be ahead of you. Ask Him to reveal the people that are wise in that area, that you can seek counsel from - and then go to them! LOL Don't be discouraged if they are only able to help you a little bit, and not as much as you thought, hoped, prayed or even expected LOL Go to the next person that God revealed. When that one gives just a little bit more, then go to the next person... Like this verse says, the more good advise you get, the more likely you are to win - so don't give up asking for advise or help!

 I'm praying that you can praise God first and foremost for at least 3 things that have already happened today! Try the ABC's of Praise while you are driving. Get others in your car involved too - it could be random, or pick a topic - just praise God for who He is and what He has done!

How To Be Rich...In Good Works

1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."      What an amazing passage!! Even if we are not rich by our standards or the worlds...we CAN be 'rich in good works'! Being generous isn't always about money. It can be time, conversation, love, kindness... Remember, when we 'do to the least of these' we are doing it to/for Jesus. Today, you have the opportunity to 'experience true life' - you do!! How? What Does Twilight Look Like To You

Isaiah 21:4 (NIV) My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. This chapter contains prophecies against  Babylon ,  Edom  and  Arabia . However, this verse jumped out at me for a different reason. First of all, I had a bit of an MEF (mind’s eye flash) of sitting on a porch overlooking the vast sky towards a big open space. Watching the sun set. Actually sitting there anticipating the setting sun and all of the colors that will be painted across the sky at twilight. How amazing and beautiful the sky becomes each and every night, as God uses it to create a magnificent canvas of art for us to enjoy! I am absolutely amazed each time I see His wonderful sunsets! Then the MEF changed. These verses reminded me of the times I have lost loved ones. How that beautiful night sky became a symbol of the fear, yes even horror of the night to come. How To Avoid Meaningless Conversations

1 Timothy‬ ‭1:4-5 “Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith."      Have you ever had a conversation with someone that feels like 'it's SO off track' or that leads to a debate of things that just 'don't feel right'? LISTEN to that Red Flag from the Holy Spirit! Excuse yourself, and walk away! Why? Because the enemy uses these crazy opinions & topics to dance around in your head and thoughts for days, weeks, even months ahead. Being a part of a conversation that gets so derailed from truth, is NOT good for anyone!
