Outsiders Become Insiders


Ephesians 3:4-6 (MSG) “As you read over what I have written to you, you’ll be able to see for yourselves into the mystery of Christ. None of our ancestors understood this. Only in our time has it been made clear by God’s Spirit through His holy apostles and prophets of this new order. The mystery is that people who have never heard of God and those who have heard of Him all their lives (what I’ve been calling outsiders and insiders) stand on the same ground before God. They get the same offer, same help, same promises in Christ Jesus. The Message is accessible and welcoming to everyone, across the board.”

I LOVE verse 6 that tells us whether we have been a Christian all our life, or have just now heard of Jesus – we are ALL accepted, loved, cherished, given the same promises, the same help, the same accessibility to God through Jesus! Yes, we were ALL once “outsiders” in the kingdom of God. We ALL were once “outsiders” to this amazing family of God. Then, when the Holy Spirit of God touched us and our heart and we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior – we were instantly adopted into the family of God! We instantly became “insiders”! No waiting for any special forms or papers to say it is true. No courts or judges granting us this privilege. No – INSTANTLY we are a child of God!

Now, do we read and understand everything in the bible right away? Ummm, no! A LOT of it is still a mystery to me even to this day. However, each and every time I open up His word and read for myself, I understand and learn something new that I had not seen before. Pretty stinkin’ amazing!! We ALL are created equal in being able to come to God through Jesus. We ALL are able to accept or deny this gift of salvation. We have the freedom to choose, for ourselves, not as a hand-me-down generational custom – but on our own for our self, just between us and God. Jesus is the open door to which we can and will build on this relationship with God for all eternity and we ALL have access to and are welcome to have this!

Today, if you are feeling like an “outsider” when it comes to the things of God, I beg you to pray to God and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truths of Jesus to you. Open up His word, and read for yourself how much He loves you and wants you as His child (not grandchild or step-child – His CHILD). When things in the bible do not make sense, then ask Him to reveal what He wants you to understand in it at that time. LOL believe me, every day you will get something new and different out of His words! One of the most confusing and yet rewarding things on this earth: the bible is living and breathing – it is the VERY words of God – written just for us!! By His Spirit, we can and will understand what all Jesus really did for each and every one of us, and how we are to live and share Jesus and this understanding with others. Now THAT is a pretty special and magnificent gift if I do say so myself! Oh beloved – I am praying for you and for the mystery to be revealed so that your life and heart may be made full – filled with the truth, love, grace and mercy of Jesus. He is open willing, waiting to accept you JUST AS YOU ARE right here and right now. He is holding His hand out to welcome you into His family - to be an "insider" once and for all time! How To Be Rich...In Good Works

1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."      What an amazing passage!! Even if we are not rich by our standards or the worlds...we CAN be 'rich in good works'! Being generous isn't always about money. It can be time, conversation, love, kindness... Remember, when we 'do to the least of these' we are doing it to/for Jesus. Today, you have the opportunity to 'experience true life' - you do!! How? What Does Twilight Look Like To You

Isaiah 21:4 (NIV) My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. This chapter contains prophecies against  Babylon ,  Edom  and  Arabia . However, this verse jumped out at me for a different reason. First of all, I had a bit of an MEF (mind’s eye flash) of sitting on a porch overlooking the vast sky towards a big open space. Watching the sun set. Actually sitting there anticipating the setting sun and all of the colors that will be painted across the sky at twilight. How amazing and beautiful the sky becomes each and every night, as God uses it to create a magnificent canvas of art for us to enjoy! I am absolutely amazed each time I see His wonderful sunsets! Then the MEF changed. These verses reminded me of the times I have lost loved ones. How that beautiful night sky became a symbol of the fear, yes even horror of the night to come. How To Avoid Meaningless Conversations

1 Timothy‬ ‭1:4-5 “Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith."      Have you ever had a conversation with someone that feels like 'it's SO off track' or that leads to a debate of things that just 'don't feel right'? LISTEN to that Red Flag from the Holy Spirit! Excuse yourself, and walk away! Why? Because the enemy uses these crazy opinions & topics to dance around in your head and thoughts for days, weeks, even months ahead. Being a part of a conversation that gets so derailed from truth, is NOT good for anyone!
