Just A Little Prayer

Sometimes, someone else writes out a prayer that just fits so perfectly, that your heart wants to pray it too. This is what happened to me today, and I looked through different devotional books to find God speaking to me. I found Him alive and breathing His kindness down on me in such a way - that these fit my hearts desire and prayers to Him just right! 


In our Journey study, we are on the Holy Spirit. This is perfect!

Page 95 Because He Has Given Me His Holy Spirit
Lord, fill me afresh with Your Spirit this day. I let go of all else and open my life to all of You. Enable me to resist the temptations of the flesh that would cause me to stray from the path You have for me. I don’t ever want to minimize all that You want to do in my life. Help me to be ever mindful of Your presence in me, and may I always hear Your clear leading. I want to show my love for You by embracing You with my worship and touching You with my praise. Teach me all I need to know about how to worship You in ways that are pleasing in Your sight.
     I will pray the Father, and He will give you anther Helper, that He may abide with you forever. – John 14:6


Then I looked farther in the little book, and found even MORE perfect prayers for me and where I am!

Page 84 Lord, Lead Me Into the Future You Have For Me
Lord, I put my future in Your hands and ask that You would give me total peace about it. I want to be in the center of Your plans for my life, knowing You have given me everything I need for what is ahead. I pray You would give me strength to endure without giving up. You have said that he who endures to the end will be saved (Matthew 10:22). Help me to run the race in a way that I shall finish strong and receive the prize You have for me (1 Corinthians 9:24). Help me to be always watchful in my prayers, because I don’t know when the end of my life will be (1 Peter 4:7).
     But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines even brighter unto the perfect day. – Proverbs 4:18

Page 79 Lord, Transform Me Into a Woman of Mountain-Moving Faith
Lord, I want to always pray with Your clear leading and guidance. When I pray, give me great faith to believe for the answers. I know that without faith it is impossible to please You (Hebrews 11:6), and I want to please You more than anything else. I believe that You hear my prayers and will answer. I believe that there is a great reward for those who seek You with all of their heart.
     Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. – Hebrews 11:6

Page 54 Lord, Give Me Wisdom to Make Right Decisions
Lord, You said in Your word that You store up sound wisdom for the upright (Proverbs 2:7). Help me to walk uprightly, righteously, and obediently to Your commands. May I never be wise in my own eyes, but may I always fear You. Keep me far from evil so that I can claim the health and strength Your Word promises (Proverbs 3:7-8). Give me the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, direction, and discernment I need to keep me away from the plans of evil so that I will walk safely and not stumble (Proverbs 2:10-13). Lord, I know that in You are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). Help me to discover those treasures.
     Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. – Proverbs 24:3-4

How To Be Rich...In Good Works

1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."      What an amazing passage!! Even if we are not rich by our standards or the worlds...we CAN be 'rich in good works'! Being generous isn't always about money. It can be time, conversation, love, kindness... Remember, when we 'do to the least of these' we are doing it to/for Jesus. Today, you have the opportunity to 'experience true life' - you do!! How? What Does Twilight Look Like To You

Isaiah 21:4 (NIV) My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. This chapter contains prophecies against  Babylon ,  Edom  and  Arabia . However, this verse jumped out at me for a different reason. First of all, I had a bit of an MEF (mind’s eye flash) of sitting on a porch overlooking the vast sky towards a big open space. Watching the sun set. Actually sitting there anticipating the setting sun and all of the colors that will be painted across the sky at twilight. How amazing and beautiful the sky becomes each and every night, as God uses it to create a magnificent canvas of art for us to enjoy! I am absolutely amazed each time I see His wonderful sunsets! Then the MEF changed. These verses reminded me of the times I have lost loved ones. How that beautiful night sky became a symbol of the fear, yes even horror of the night to come. The beauty might as well have turned to ashes at that moment ...

How To Avoid Meaningless Conversations

1 Timothy‬ ‭1:4-5 “Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith."      Have you ever had a conversation with someone that feels like 'it's SO off track' or that leads to a debate of things that just 'don't feel right'? LISTEN to that Red Flag from the Holy Spirit! Excuse yourself, and walk away! Why? Because the enemy uses these crazy opinions & topics to dance around in your head and thoughts for days, weeks, even months ahead. Being a part of a conversation that gets so derailed from truth, is NOT good for anyone!
