The Power of Eternity


Have you ever been in a situation where you wondered "how on earth will I have the strength for this?!?!"? Has it ever crossed your mind to wonder how on earth Jesus could have gone WILLINGLY to the cross for us? Where did He get His strength do such a thing? 

During my quiet time, I read verses and follow the STAR method to journal. Here is what I got today.

Scripture) Hebrews 9:14 (TPT) Yet how much more will the sacred blood of the Messiah thoroughly cleanse our consciences! For by the power of the eternal Spirit he has offered himself to God as the perfect Sacrifice that now frees us from our dead works to worship and serve the living God.
Thought) Wow!! The Spirit is where Jesus got the power to offer Himself to God as the sacrifice for us!! WHAT?!?! The “eternal” Spirit – the Spirit was/is with God at all times – from the beginning of everything, to now. Jesus was able to offer Himself to do something SUPER hard, because He had the power of the Holy Spirit – AND I/we HAVE this very same Spirit in us – right now!! Sooooooo anything that I think is too hard, or too difficult, or too scary… all I/we have to do is ask the Spirit to guide us through it. Offer ourselves to the Lord via the power of the Spirit!! Put ON this power via the full armor of God. Not only have Him "inside" of me - but to be fully all over and around me via this armor!
Application) Hmmm – well, the way to apply this verse, is to believe it! Have the faith in my inner soul, that the Spirit wants the best for me and will help me accomplish Gods plans through His power in the Spirit! Wow! It is the power and strength of the Holy Spirit that is in each piece of the full armor of God! WOW! 
Response) Gosh! Daddy – how amazing is this?!?! I mean, I understood some of this, but to see that even Your Son Jesus had to call on and be helped by Your Holy Spirit to be able to offer Himself for me/us! Thank You! Holy Spirit, please come and fill me with your power to accomplish all that God has in store for Todd and I. I KNOW it is not by me or my strength AT ALL!! Now I understand it is Your power that makes all things happen – thank You! Daddy, I pray for Your Holy Spirit to give me strength today in anything and everything that comes my way. Bless my travels to and from. Bless Todd as he travels. I pray for Your blessing on my work, office, co-workers and bosses. May we be productive and successful in what we put our hands to today. I pray for each of the calls and doors that Todd goes to today - bring honor to his efforts in is work. Thank You for allowing me/us to call upon Your Holy Spirit for the strength to do all thing. I lift all of this up you You Daddy, in the name of Jesus, amen.

How To Be Rich...In Good Works

1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."      What an amazing passage!! Even if we are not rich by our standards or the worlds...we CAN be 'rich in good works'! Being generous isn't always about money. It can be time, conversation, love, kindness... Remember, when we 'do to the least of these' we are doing it to/for Jesus. Today, you have the opportunity to 'experience true life' - you do!! How? What Does Twilight Look Like To You

Isaiah 21:4 (NIV) My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. This chapter contains prophecies against  Babylon ,  Edom  and  Arabia . However, this verse jumped out at me for a different reason. First of all, I had a bit of an MEF (mind’s eye flash) of sitting on a porch overlooking the vast sky towards a big open space. Watching the sun set. Actually sitting there anticipating the setting sun and all of the colors that will be painted across the sky at twilight. How amazing and beautiful the sky becomes each and every night, as God uses it to create a magnificent canvas of art for us to enjoy! I am absolutely amazed each time I see His wonderful sunsets! Then the MEF changed. These verses reminded me of the times I have lost loved ones. How that beautiful night sky became a symbol of the fear, yes even horror of the night to come. How To Avoid Meaningless Conversations

1 Timothy‬ ‭1:4-5 “Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith."      Have you ever had a conversation with someone that feels like 'it's SO off track' or that leads to a debate of things that just 'don't feel right'? LISTEN to that Red Flag from the Holy Spirit! Excuse yourself, and walk away! Why? Because the enemy uses these crazy opinions & topics to dance around in your head and thoughts for days, weeks, even months ahead. Being a part of a conversation that gets so derailed from truth, is NOT good for anyone!
