The Secrets Out


Have you ever had some news that you were told to “keep secret”? Did you just feel like you were going to burst if you didn’t tell someone?!?! I believe this is exactly what these verses are talking about…

1 Timothy 2:4-6

NLT – (God our Savior) 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5 For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave His life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

MSG – He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we’ve learned: that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered Himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out.

Have you ever had someone say to you that God doesn’t care about them? Or perhaps that God is a big meanie in the sky and is just out to get everyone? How about someone that says God doesn’t listen? Well according to these verses, and MANY others in the bible, the truth is – God wants EVERYONE to have saving grace! He wants EVERYONE to be reconciled through Jesus! Jesus actually offered Himself “for us” – ALL of us! Yes, ALL of us…

I believe this is one of the reasons why Jesus hasn’t come back yet. Because God really doesn’t want anyone to parish. He truly wants everyone to know His love for them. So, who are we to hold that truth back from anyone? Who are we to judge if someone is worthy of hearing the truth? Who are we to get in the way of God doing a miracle? Ummm – we are NOT God that’s for sure!! We do not have the right to decide who or when someone gets to hear His truth. Nope! We are to live it out everywhere we go, with everyone we meet. Oh I know – you’re saying, “But Lisa Marie, I’m not gifted with words or being able to speak to people. I’m afraid what might happen to me.” Well, according to MANY verses in the bible, we don’t have to be afraid of things like that. You see, God uses us, broken messed up people – to… get this…. Reach other broken and messed up people! Sure He uses pastors and teachers a lot, but I bet if we had Hobo Kelly’s special looking glass, we would see that us normal Joe’s, are the ones that people are seeing the truth through MORE than those who are in the spot light.

Today, as you go about your day, try asking the Lord to nudge you when He is bringing someone across your path that He has a plan for. Be on the lookout for ways to say small, simple truths about our amazing God. He is all around us, in SO many ways! My prayer for you today is to just be open to His nudges. Be well, be safe, and be blessed BIG time!

How To Be Rich...In Good Works

1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."      What an amazing passage!! Even if we are not rich by our standards or the worlds...we CAN be 'rich in good works'! Being generous isn't always about money. It can be time, conversation, love, kindness... Remember, when we 'do to the least of these' we are doing it to/for Jesus. Today, you have the opportunity to 'experience true life' - you do!! How? What Does Twilight Look Like To You

Isaiah 21:4 (NIV) My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. This chapter contains prophecies against  Babylon ,  Edom  and  Arabia . However, this verse jumped out at me for a different reason. First of all, I had a bit of an MEF (mind’s eye flash) of sitting on a porch overlooking the vast sky towards a big open space. Watching the sun set. Actually sitting there anticipating the setting sun and all of the colors that will be painted across the sky at twilight. How amazing and beautiful the sky becomes each and every night, as God uses it to create a magnificent canvas of art for us to enjoy! I am absolutely amazed each time I see His wonderful sunsets! Then the MEF changed. These verses reminded me of the times I have lost loved ones. How that beautiful night sky became a symbol of the fear, yes even horror of the night to come. How To Avoid Meaningless Conversations

1 Timothy‬ ‭1:4-5 “Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith."      Have you ever had a conversation with someone that feels like 'it's SO off track' or that leads to a debate of things that just 'don't feel right'? LISTEN to that Red Flag from the Holy Spirit! Excuse yourself, and walk away! Why? Because the enemy uses these crazy opinions & topics to dance around in your head and thoughts for days, weeks, even months ahead. Being a part of a conversation that gets so derailed from truth, is NOT good for anyone!
