Whach' Ya Thinkin


Ever wonder what to do with some of your “free time” or “down time”? Well, wonder no more! The bible tells us exactly what to do…

1 Timothy 2:1-2

NLT – I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.

MSG – The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation.

TPT – Most of all, I’m writing to encourage you to pray with gratitude to God. Pray for all men with all forms of prayers and requests as you intercede with intense passion. 2 And pray for every political leader and representative, so that we would be able to live tranquil, undisturbed lives, as we worship the awe-inspiring God with pure hearts.

I love how God shows us in His word, that He truly cares for and loves EVERYONE in the world!! Not just by sending Jesus His Son to die in our place like in John 3:16, not to judge us, but to save us as in verse 17. Here in Timothy, He shows us that we too are to have a heart for others in our world. The good, the bad, the ugly LOL Saved and unsaved. The part about us praying for our rulers too – that means ALL of the leaders of the world, not just here in America.

For me, that hard part is NOT praying MY will for, towards, on, over the leaders that are over me. Yup, I DO have my own wants and needs, and I sometimes pray for those things to be done instead of God’s will to be done. However, if we follow these two simple verses, we will live in a very different world for sure!

The other part that struck me, was to “thank God for them” – what?!?! Some of the leaders in the world today, are not living a very godly or friendly life – but we are to thank God for them too. Why? Well, I wasn’t totally sure at first, but then it hit me – it really isn’t for “them” but for us and our heart. So that we don’t get hard hearts, so that we still hear God’s voice and pray for them anyway. So that we can actually grow and learn from things that seem like mistakes to us.

Today, I pray that you are able to pray for those in your world. In your town/city. In your neighborhood. For those who live on your street, next door. As you pass by homes, businesses, people… just shoot up a prayer for them and or for thanks giving for them that they are there in your world ;-) Be well, be safe, and be blessed BIG time today!! You are loved and valued, spread that truth all around J

How To Be Rich...In Good Works

1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."      What an amazing passage!! Even if we are not rich by our standards or the worlds...we CAN be 'rich in good works'! Being generous isn't always about money. It can be time, conversation, love, kindness... Remember, when we 'do to the least of these' we are doing it to/for Jesus. Today, you have the opportunity to 'experience true life' - you do!! How? What Does Twilight Look Like To You

Isaiah 21:4 (NIV) My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. This chapter contains prophecies against  Babylon ,  Edom  and  Arabia . However, this verse jumped out at me for a different reason. First of all, I had a bit of an MEF (mind’s eye flash) of sitting on a porch overlooking the vast sky towards a big open space. Watching the sun set. Actually sitting there anticipating the setting sun and all of the colors that will be painted across the sky at twilight. How amazing and beautiful the sky becomes each and every night, as God uses it to create a magnificent canvas of art for us to enjoy! I am absolutely amazed each time I see His wonderful sunsets! Then the MEF changed. These verses reminded me of the times I have lost loved ones. How that beautiful night sky became a symbol of the fear, yes even horror of the night to come. How To Avoid Meaningless Conversations

1 Timothy‬ ‭1:4-5 “Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith."      Have you ever had a conversation with someone that feels like 'it's SO off track' or that leads to a debate of things that just 'don't feel right'? LISTEN to that Red Flag from the Holy Spirit! Excuse yourself, and walk away! Why? Because the enemy uses these crazy opinions & topics to dance around in your head and thoughts for days, weeks, even months ahead. Being a part of a conversation that gets so derailed from truth, is NOT good for anyone!
