Quit Picking Back Up The Sand
Psalms 32:1-5, 8 NLT
Verses 1-5: Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty! When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. Day and night Your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Finally, I confessed all my sins to You and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And You forgave me! All my guilt is gone.
Verse 8: The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”
Do you keep messing up, and think that you are just a lost cause?!?! Would you like to have all of those 'mess-ups' put out of sight, away from you, cleared off your record? Well, you CAN! Right here, God tells us just what it is we need to do, in order for Him to 'remember it no more' - Confess our sins and stop trying to hide our guilt and shame! Yes, sometimes, easier said than done, I know. I don't know about you - but sin can be exhausting! Keeping things secret, worrying about someone 'finding out' and then the lies to cover things up.... who did you tell what, when, and how to keep it all straight. Then the pain and agony caused inside ourselves at hiding this from others. Feeling weak and drained all the time. It is EXHAUSTING!! That is NOT how God desires us to live, not at all!! We have to decide, ourselves, to come to Him and confess our wrongdoings, big or small. Sometimes, hourly at first. But the great thing is - that the moment we DO confess with a true and honest heart to do so - He forgives us!! AND He remembers it no more! So, when the enemy tries to remind you of a past sin, and you think you have to go to God with it again - He, God, has no record of it. It's like a grain of sand on the bottom of the ocean. You can NOT find your "one sin that you confessed" that you are trying to pick back up again.... He tossed there - you can't!
Really - picture it: you are at the beach, walking on the pavement, and you are holding a tiny grain of sand in your hand. If you drop it on the blacktop, sure, MAYBE it will stand out and you can pick it back up again. However, step just your toes in to the sand.... now drop it....IMPOSSIBLE to find "your" grain of sand!! In an INSTANT, it is gone! Try picking up a handful of sand, and try to pick out just ONE grain of sand - next to impossible! That is exactly how it is with us and our sins that we bring before the Lord and confess to Him. INSTANTLY He forgives, and ALL of our guilt is gone!! Now the enemy and our own bad habits, will be there, and will try to keep "bringing it back up" - but you HAVE to trust, that Gods word is true - and that He DOES forgive you. Now, you need to forgive yourself too! Don't be trying to make your grain of sand in to a rock or a shell either - they too, are too numerous to count, look through, and or sort out!
Then the BEST part - verse 8 - He WILL guide us along our path in life. He WILL advise us and He WILL watch over us! It says so right here! It is a promise from Him!! How do I KNOW this is true?!?! Because He has done it over and over again, each and every time I confess things to Him!! He guides me by the Holy Spirit nudging me, whispering to me, sometimes big, bold kicks even LOL - but He DOES guide and direct me! The other way I get to hear from Him and spend time with Him, building our 'marriage relationship' is when I get in to the bible and 'listen' to Him talk. Sometimes tenderly, some times with great passion - but He ALWAYS shares His heart and desire with us, like a Good Husband!
Today, ask Him to speak to you as you read Psalms 10 for yourself, see how He speaks to you and your heart. If nothing 'jumps out' at you, then read Proverbs 10 (today's date) and see how He talks to you there. If you still are not hearing His voice, then try going to chapter 10 in John, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Acts, Romans.... any of the books in the New Testament. Or even in the Old Testament books like Isaiah, Genesis or any other ones. There are SO many places He is ready and waiting to 'communicate' with you!! Now, if you are like me, you can get VERY lost in time when you do this - so I suggest that you set a timer, on your watch or phone. If you have not felt like you have received enough of God in that time, then revisit Him on your break, at lunch time, or even with an audio version in the car while you drive - you WILL hear from Him, and you WILL be blessed!! I'm praying for your "love connection" with Jesus today! That you not only share your deep, innermost issues with Him, but that you actually seek His forgiveness with a sincere heart to change and get rid of any habits that are keeping you from having a good, full, honest & loving relationship with Him! You ARE loved, He is reaching out to you - take His hand, and trust this walk He is taking you on - you will NOT regret it! Rejoice and be glad, that He DOES forgive!! <3
