Sometimes We Are Our Strongest On Our Knees
Isaiah 31:1 NLT "What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the Lord, the Holy One of Israel."
How true this is still today. Not the chariots of course, cars instead LOL - but the looking to 'people' and 'things' to help us and make us feel good and such...
It is unfortunate, that we are still drawn on a daily basis, to seek help from those around us. Who in fact, are VERY limited by their abilities in what they can do with, to, or for us! The sorrow that comes when we try and do things in our own strength, or in the strength of people around us - really does add up and affect us big time! Then, we forget, that everyone has a 'life' outside of our little bubble. Sometimes, the daily grind gets in the way of communicating the way we would like to with friends and family. Or, we end up working longer hours than we expect, and it throws off our regular nightly routine. Whatever it is, even in those moments, we 'seek help' from others - when we should be praying to God and asking for His help.
We will only get disappointed when we trust in the strength and abilities of others. As well, they will be disappointed by us at times too. With Jesus, we can and do have the strength to do all things, because it is His strength IN us through the Holy Spirit. That is something we shouldn't take lightly! There are many times I have chosen unwisely and have tried to 'handle' something on my own LOL From actual physical things, to emotional stuff. The hardest times, are the ones that require faith in the unseen and unknown. Yet, it is at those times, that our faith grows even more and more - when we seek the Lord that is. He is ever ready and waiting for us to reach out to Him. He desires us to be full and rich by His blessings. Which really does come, by looking to Him and resting in His timing for things.
I am reminded today, that as we go about life, there are people that we 'thought' would be there forever, until our last breath. However, through different circumstances and life situations, they end up moving out of our everyday life, in to a 'once in a while' position. Then, fade out all together. Yes, it hurts and is painful. But perhaps, it is the best thing for us, at the time. Even though we have technology, that allows us to keep in touch over the miles and distance, we somehow get stuck in the 'here and now near me' mentality. Sad, unfortunate, but perhaps exactly what is needed for either side/party.
Today there will be trials and situations that we WILL be facing, that we WILL feel the urgent need to reach out to someone or something for help - however, our FIRST reaction needs to be to reach out to the creator of it all, and ask for His help and guidance in the situation. It is much better to learn how to 'respond' to things and people, than to have the habit of 'reacting' to things and people around us! With God's help and guidance, we can and will be stronger and better equipped for what ever comes our way. On our knees, is how we fight the battles around us. On our knees is where we will see and experience victory. I'm praying you have victory today, in ALL moments - of seeking our heavenly Father FIRST in all of the craziness that happens around or to you today. Stop, take a deep breath, quickly shoot up a 911 prayer to God, and then breath again. He WILL guide, direct, and show you His strength - in ALL things - you just have to reach out and trust Him. <3
