What Kind Of "Clothes" Are You Wearing
Colossians 3:8-10, 12-14
Vs 8-10 “But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him."
Vs 12-14 "Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony."
Dear holy and beloved Sister, you ARE renewed in knowledge thru and by and because of the image of Christ. God has CHOSEN you! He offers us fresh, clean, beautiful, perfect 'clothes' to put on - each and every day! Clean slate. New start. A+ at the start of the day... We can get dirty and messed up thru the day, by slipping in to old habits, or following our desires instead of Jesus. But you know what?!?! Our 'new clothes' we have because of and in Christ, are like that old saying, "I'm rubber you're glue, whatever you say, bounces off me and sticks on you" - our 'new clothes' do this! When we walk thru the dirty, wicked old sinful nature and get 'it' on us - we kneel before our Daddy, ask for forgiveness, and it ALL slides right off!! ALL of it!! However, we are not just to keep these 'new, clean clothes' to ourselves. We are to forgive each other, make allowances for each other, love each other. Not be abused, or walked on necessarily - but a heart of forgiveness and grace with true sincere mercy. Why? Because God, thru Jesus, did ALL of this to/for us!! Every time we go to Him and confess our 'mess ups' - He allows all the dirt to fall off!
You are clothed in beauty, grace, light - filled with love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. So, share that with others. Today, SEE that you are clothed in rubber, your suit/armor is Jesus! You do NOT have glue on you, don't believe you have ANY glue on you! When you find yourself in a sticky situation, mentally step under Gods power-wash hose, and let it all slide off!! Picture yourself like a fresh, clean garment hanging on the line to dry. It is out in the open, where there is a fresh breeze blowing. Warm yet cool sun beams shining on you. The scent of the pure clean nature around you, swirls and fills each and every fiber of your being. You swing and sway with joy and happiness as the breeze moves you about on the line. This is Jesus making you clean, fresh and new!
