The Stink Of Praise Rises
2 Kings 14:3-4 3 Amaziah did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, but not like his ancestor David. Instead, he
followed the example of his father, Joash. 4 Amaziah did not destroy the pagan shrines,
and the people still offered sacrifices and burned incense there.
Even tho King Amaziah was a godly man and did right in the
eyes og God, he didn’t FULLY do what was right. He left all of the high places
the people created with false gods and false religions – offerings and
sacrifices still stunk up the air that rose up to God.
I wonder what would happen, if our country would TRULY turn
back to God?!?! Can you imagine ALL false religions and their churches (high
places) being torn down? I mean, if God directs it, He protects it! WOW! We
would be like the people in the bible, because we would see, feel, hear and
experience the hand of God with other countries. I am sure there would still be
war, God shows Himself in war – but the victory would be ALL God!!
Perhaps, we are living for God, and doing what is right in
His eyes – yet we still have “high places” that need to be torn down in our
lives… My “places” are food and distractions from healthy choices. I somehow
keep falling, and end up “sacrificing” to these false gods. The Lord WILL
prevail!! He WILL deliver me!! I just need to stop listening to myself and
seeking and listening to the Holy Spirit!
What are your “high places”? Self-doubt? Laziness?
Procrastination? Negative-self-talk? Spending? Complaining? Drugs? Alcohol?
Sex? Anger? Gossip? Compulsiveness? The list can go on and on… Let’s tear down
these high places and replace them with Jesus and fill that “spot” or “thing”
with whatever the Holy Spirit directs. God will not lead us anywhere He is not
willing to go WITH us! His ways are good, right and true! Refreshing will come,
we just need to follow Him.
I’m praying for you today. That you will ask the Father to
open your eyes to any “high places” that need to be torn down, thrown away, and
not worship. Any habits that need to change. We ALL are for sure like sheep,
and we fall away into our own worlds really easily lol But, He is the Great
Shepherd, and He will draw us back to His green pastures. We just have to
listen to His voice. I pray this for you and myself today. May you be well,
safe and blessed today as you seek time with Jesus.
