Building The Road To Health


Have you ever wondered if you have “messed up” too much to ever regain control of yourself again? Have you ever wondered if God really sees what we are doing to ourselves? The verses He walked with me through today, are pretty darn promising and hopeful!

Isaiah 57:14-15 & 18-19 (NLT)

14 God says, “Rebuild the road! Clear away the rocks and stones so My people can return from captivity.” 15 The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.”

18 “I have seen what they do, but I will heal them anyway! I will lead them.
I will comfort those who mourn, 19 bringing words of praise to their lips. May they have abundant peace, both near and far,” says the Lord, who heals them.


Wow! It is so awesome how the Lord leads me to things to encourage me! Which in turn, I pray encourages someone else too. My journey in getting healthy has been an interesting road to say the least lol However, the Lord has been putting different ideas in my head that I need to share. One is developing a “road map” so to speak, of getting healthy. Which comes from the verses He spoke through to me in the beginning of my journey. One of them being 1 Corinthians 6:19 (TPT) “Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary.”

I was begging and crying out to Him, that I had broken down, polluted and plain ‘ol just destroyed the temple He had built for me, for His Spirit to live in. Me! Then He gave me the story in Nehemiah about rebuilding the temple. Well, now – I feel I need to create that road map on paper to share with others. The thing is, we don’t know where we are going, until we admit where we are starting (which is VERY hard to do for many of us!). We can’t get to the “goal” of health, if we don’t use a map to guide us AND fill up our “car” with gas BEFORE we take off, in order to get us there!

Well, these verses remind me, that sometimes the “road” ahead needs a little road-repair before it can be traveled on in the first place. Being unhealthy is like being a “captive” in a prison or jail or encampment. The Lord does NOT want us stuck in that slavery at all! He wants us alive and well, free from the bondage of unwise health choices. Where do we start? By clearing away the rocks and stones. What are the rocks and stones? Well, I believe the core of them is the same for all of us, unrepentant sin. The other details are different and unique to each one of us. I will be journaling out my “road” and then I will share it.

I feel SO hopeful!! I’m excited! He lives with us! He IS ready to restore us, our crushed spirit, and revive the courage we have within us! Even though He has seen what we have done and do to ourselves, He WILL heal us anyway! What?!?! YES! He will!! I know it! I believe it! For you and for me! It’s a promise He has given us!

How To Be Rich...In Good Works

1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."      What an amazing passage!! Even if we are not rich by our standards or the worlds...we CAN be 'rich in good works'! Being generous isn't always about money. It can be time, conversation, love, kindness... Remember, when we 'do to the least of these' we are doing it to/for Jesus. Today, you have the opportunity to 'experience true life' - you do!! How? How To Fill Your Home With Treasures

Proverbs‬ ‭24:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬ "A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense. Through knowledge its rooms are filled with all sorts of precious riches and valuables." What a beautiful MEF (minds eye flash) I had reading these verses. Looking at a piece of land, where a house is going to be built. It is bare, nothing there. Then all of a sudden, there is a foundation. However, the foundation has 'words' all over it! Words and sayings with phrases that are good and wise: foresight, experience, caution, knowledge, balance, learning.... Then there is a person, bent over, smoothing out the last bit of cement, and His name is Wisdom. I can just tell. It exudes from Him without Him even saying a word. What Does Twilight Look Like To You

Isaiah 21:4 (NIV) My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. This chapter contains prophecies against  Babylon ,  Edom  and  Arabia . However, this verse jumped out at me for a different reason. First of all, I had a bit of an MEF (mind’s eye flash) of sitting on a porch overlooking the vast sky towards a big open space. Watching the sun set. Actually sitting there anticipating the setting sun and all of the colors that will be painted across the sky at twilight. How amazing and beautiful the sky becomes each and every night, as God uses it to create a magnificent canvas of art for us to enjoy! I am absolutely amazed each time I see His wonderful sunsets! Then the MEF changed. These verses reminded me of the times I have lost loved ones. How that beautiful night sky became a symbol of the fear, yes even horror of the night to come. Meal Time Reflection

Proverbs 17:1 (NASB) “ Better is a dry morsel and quietness with it than a house full of feasting with strife. ” What is it like at your dinner table? Do you even sit at the table together as a family? Sadly, most of us have gotten out of this amazing habit. Instead, we are eating either in front of the TV or at a computer. No real conversations with other people. How about the table when it is a holiday? When you are gathering family members for the day, or even just a few hours, what are the conversations like when it is time to eat? Do you sit down together at one big table, or at smaller ‘groupings’ of tables? Do you all just pick a spot and eat off your lap? What are the conversations that go on at these gatherings? My husband and I experienced holiday gathers a bit different from each other.
