Not By Accident

 Special moments are special because they are NOT by accident.

Tea Time With Jesus – Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”

 

Two (3) words jumped out at me in this verse: ‘good things’ and ‘planned’ – then throw in there ‘long ago’ for good measure.

            So that we can do good things – my head said, “like what?” The Spirit answered with “glorifying God, and salvation for others” – all of the other ‘good things’ are like icing on the cake, when the REAL thing for us to be doing, is to glorify God in all we do, and point to Him and His salvation any chance we get.

            Of course my mind asked, “planned for ‘me?’, long ago? Like what?” Just like that, the second that was a thought, I heard: to be a part of the glory. “What?!” I asked. Then things flashed before my minds-eye of sharing laughter, joy, tears, hugs, smiles, and many other emotions during times I have been gathered with others and Jesus was spoken of. When someone understands something they didn’t before. The times that words came out of my mouth that I had NO clue where they came from. Times when just sitting with someone during a special need, was the exact thing they needed. On and on my minds-eye reminded me of moments that were “planned” by God.

            Then it hit me, that God had ALL of those moments planned for me long ago! Yes, actually - before I was even born, He knew the days I would have, the people I would be with, and the moments that were going to matter most. Here I thought I was a ‘plan freak’ but God has me beat by a mile! LOL The crazy thing is, as I try to make this make sense in my head, I think of how I have “planned” things for my family, our kids, our grandkids… The things I have hopes and dreams of for them. Then, they turn a different corner, walk a different path, make their own choices, and my “plans” are not mine anymore. Gosh! I wonder how many times I have done that to the Lord?!?! But you know what?? It doesn’t matter how many detours we take, how many times we stop along the road! HIS plans have NEVER changed! He knows each step we will take and each choice we will make AND He has good things planned for us in each and every one! Now THAT is pretty stinkin’ awesome!

            I pray that today, you are blessed with seeing times when you have been a part of a moment that God had planned for you and for someone else. Be safe, be well, be blessed!

How To Be Rich...In Good Works

1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."      What an amazing passage!! Even if we are not rich by our standards or the worlds...we CAN be 'rich in good works'! Being generous isn't always about money. It can be time, conversation, love, kindness... Remember, when we 'do to the least of these' we are doing it to/for Jesus. Today, you have the opportunity to 'experience true life' - you do!! How? How To Fill Your Home With Treasures

Proverbs‬ ‭24:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬ "A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense. Through knowledge its rooms are filled with all sorts of precious riches and valuables." What a beautiful MEF (minds eye flash) I had reading these verses. Looking at a piece of land, where a house is going to be built. It is bare, nothing there. Then all of a sudden, there is a foundation. However, the foundation has 'words' all over it! Words and sayings with phrases that are good and wise: foresight, experience, caution, knowledge, balance, learning.... Then there is a person, bent over, smoothing out the last bit of cement, and His name is Wisdom. I can just tell. It exudes from Him without Him even saying a word. What Does Twilight Look Like To You

Isaiah 21:4 (NIV) My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. This chapter contains prophecies against  Babylon ,  Edom  and  Arabia . However, this verse jumped out at me for a different reason. First of all, I had a bit of an MEF (mind’s eye flash) of sitting on a porch overlooking the vast sky towards a big open space. Watching the sun set. Actually sitting there anticipating the setting sun and all of the colors that will be painted across the sky at twilight. How amazing and beautiful the sky becomes each and every night, as God uses it to create a magnificent canvas of art for us to enjoy! I am absolutely amazed each time I see His wonderful sunsets! Then the MEF changed. These verses reminded me of the times I have lost loved ones. How that beautiful night sky became a symbol of the fear, yes even horror of the night to come. Proverbs 17:1 (NASB) “ Better is a dry morsel and quietness with it than a house full of feasting with strife. ” What is it like at your dinner table? Do you even sit at the table together as a family? Sadly, most of us have gotten out of this amazing habit. Instead, we are eating either in front of the TV or at a computer. No real conversations with other people. How about the table when it is a holiday? When you are gathering family members for the day, or even just a few hours, what are the conversations like when it is time to eat? Do you sit down together at one big table, or at smaller ‘groupings’ of tables? Do you all just pick a spot and eat off your lap? What are the conversations that go on at these gatherings? My husband and I experienced holiday gathers a bit different from each other.
