Wise Don'ts To Follow

Image
There are things that God actually "hates", here they are listed from the bible.  Tea Time With Jesus – Proverbs 6:16-19 (MSG) “ Here are six things  God  hates, and one more that He loathes with a passion: eyes that are arrogant, a tongue that lies, hands that murder the innocent, a heart that hatches evil plots, feet that race down a wicked track, a mouth that lies under oath, a troublemaker in the family.   T – I know I have read these before. I know I have looked at them and thought, “Well, I don’t do that, and I don’t do that…” However, I know the bible tells us, that even if we “think” these things, we are guilty of them. So, looking back over the list – sure, I don’t do most of these on a regular basis, however, there are times I see that I do still have these actions in me. This just proves, that we can NOT bee perfect! We can NOT hold up that type of living ALL the time. However, YES, we CAN and DO make progress! Yay! Do I do these things ...

Not By Accident

Image
Special moments are special because they are NOT by accident. Tea Time With Jesus – Ephesians 2:10 “ For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. ”   Two (3) words jumped out at me in this verse: ‘good things’ and ‘planned’ – then throw in there ‘long ago’ for good measure.             So that we can do good things – my head said, “like what?” The Spirit answered with “glorifying God, and salvation for others” – all of the other ‘good things’ are like icing on the cake, when the REAL thing for us to be doing, is to glorify God in all we do, and point to Him and His salvation any chance we get.             Of course my mind asked, “ planned for ‘me?’, long ago? Like what?” Just like that, the second that was a thought, I heard: to be a part of the glory. “What?!” I asked. Then ...

Who Is Knocking At The Gate

Image
Do we truly hear the knocking at the door? What do we do when we realize it is Him? Stay? Run? Tell others? Today, I used the STAR with the verses I read. S – Acts 12:12-18 – 12  When he realized this, he went to the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many were gathered for prayer.   13  He knocked at the door in the gate, and a servant girl named Rhoda came to open it.   14  When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed that, instead of opening the door, she ran back inside and told everyone, “Peter is standing at the door!” 15  “You’re out of your mind!” they said. When she insisted, they decided, “It must be his angel.” 16  Meanwhile, Peter continued knocking. When they finally opened the door and saw him, they were amazed.   17  He motioned for them to quiet down and told them how the Lord had led him out of prison. “Tell James and the other brothers what happened,” he said. And then he went to another place. ...

True Rescue From Hell

Image
At first, when I read these verses, my thoughts were focused on "God knowing" - then as I started to listen and see what I was reading, God blessed me with a MEF (minds eye flash) in the words that I read at the end of these verses.  Today I used the reading and journaling with the STAR method. Scripture, what verse or verses I read. Thought, my thoughts on the verse. Application, how can I apply this to my life today. and Response, my response due to the verse(s). S (scripture) – Acts 2:23-24 NLT (New Living Translation) – 23  But God knew what would happen, and His prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed Him to a cross and killed Him.   24  But God released Him from the horrors of death and raised Him back to life, for death could not keep Him in its grip. MSG (The Message) – this Jesus, following the deliberate and well-thought-out plan of God, was betrayed by men who took the law in...

Words Can Touch Our Innermost Being

Image
Have you ever been touched in your heart, in your inner soul, way down in the very inner parts of your bones when you've heard someone speak? Somehow, you very innermost being is being "talked to"? This is the impression I get when I read this part in the book of Acts. S - Acts 2:17-22 - Peter standing up in the crowd after the Holt Spirit was poured out on ALL believers. His quoting promises from God from the Old Testament. T – It is awesome that Peter stood and shared with the crowd scripture from their old books (the Old Testament). What jumped out at me, was that almost all of the things he was saying “will be done” already happened! A lot of them through Jesus, and several at His crucifixion/death. A (how/what I felt) – it struck me, that if I were one of the people hearing all of this (from the outside of believers), I would have been pricked in my heart at hearing scripture quoted, that I KNEW from growing up. Then a flash of all that had happened with/...

The Air Around Us

Image
The "air" around us. Even in fog, there is light. I am praying for ANY fog you are experiencing, to be LIFTED today! Romans 1:13-17; 18-23 NLT – 18  But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.   19  They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them.   20  For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. 21  Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.   22  Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.   23  And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mer...

Gathering Together – Just Different

Image
We have an interesting opportunity to gathering together – just different. With the technology we now have, it is possible any day and at any time to reach out and "visit" with someone. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. I am reading in the book of Romans. Hahahah I am not very far, still in chapter 1 - but hey! There is good "food" here! Romans 1 Verse 8 – Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you. Verse 12 – When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours . I enjoy how the Lord points out gratitude and thankfulness often in scriptures. The Bible often tells us to be thankful for things. I sometimes forget to thank Him for the “people” in my life. I end up thanking Him for things, events, situations… but somehow, I forget about the simple preciousness of thanking Him for people. The next thing that jumped out at me, w...

The Privilege In A Gift

Image
Sometimes, we are given a gift, that is meant to be shared. The bigger blessing comes from not keeping it all to ourselves, but sharing it with anyone we can. Romans 1:5 S - Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey Him, bringing glory to His name. T – In this verse “privilege and authority” popped out at me. It is a gift from God Himself that we have this privilege to share the Good News and Truth about Jesus! We are not only given the chance to “enjoy” this gift, but we are given “authority” to share it with others. What strikes me is how we treat this “gift” from Him. I know some people that receive a ‘gift’ and are very careful with it. Others shake it before they open it! Some take their time relishing each and every part of the gift’s outer decorations and wrapping paper in the opening process. Others, rip into it not even noticing the outer deco...

No Law Against These Things

Image
03.19.20 Teatime With Jesus – No Law Against These Galatians 5:22-23 NLT – 22  But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,   23  gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! TPT – 22–23  But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy  that overflows , peace  that subdues , patience  that endures , kindness  in action , a life full of virtue, faith  that prevails , gentleness  of heart , and strength  of spirit . Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless. MSG – 22-23  But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense o...

Storms and Sun

Image
Ever have one of those days, where the verse that pops up on your screen FITS just perfectly? Have you ever had it happen TWO days in a row?! Well, that is just what happened to me today and yesterday. We are going through some changes here in our home, with our physical things as well as our personal things. Some things are changing with family and friends as well. There are even some changes in the air with our work and finances. As I was having tea with Jesus, my hearts prayer kept leaping back to our “issues” and what is my part in them and what should I be doing. Well, as this happened yesterday, Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT) popped up on my BibleGateway page on my computer. Isaiah 55:8-9   NLT   “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the  Lord . “And My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.” As I read this, ...
