Words Can Touch Our Innermost Being

Have you ever been touched in your heart, in your inner soul, way down in the very inner parts of your bones when you've heard someone speak? Somehow, you very innermost being is being "talked to"? This is the impression I get when I read this part in the book of Acts.

S - Acts 2:17-22 - Peter standing up in the crowd after the Holt Spirit was poured out on ALL believers. His quoting promises from God from the Old Testament.

T – It is awesome that Peter stood and shared with the crowd scripture from their old books (the Old Testament). What jumped out at me, was that almost all of the things he was saying “will be done” already happened! A lot of them through Jesus, and several at His crucifixion/death.

A (how/what I felt) – it struck me, that if I were one of the people hearing all of this (from the outside of believers), I would have been pricked in my heart at hearing scripture quoted, that I KNEW from growing up. Then a flash of all that had happened with/to/around Jesus. What I watched happening while He was in my town. I can only imagine MY heart being struck with awe and wonder. An “eye opening” moment so to speak. I felt inspired as I read these words, imagining Peter speaking them with me near him. How the very words he is speaking, reached way down deep inside me, and stirred my soul to respond!

     Then, my mind went to someone that is listening and still has a hard heart. They would have felt a prick as well but pushed it down/away. They would have used it as a fire to fuel bitterness, anger, resentment… at being told “they had something to do with it all too”. I guess, the root of their feelings would have been fear. My root was love and repentance.

R – Oh Papa – how many heard Peter and came to repentance and salvation?! How many blessed You and Your name and spread the Good News?! Oh Lord – how many kept the history of denial?! That spread down to many generations. Oh Papa, I pray for the families that have been in the lineage of unbelief. I pray for Your Spirit to break the chains of bondage they are in. Soften their hearts, open their ears and have someone bring You and Your TRUTH to them. Allow them to be chosen by You, like all of us Your children have been <3 I lift up the families that have followed in belief. That you keep their "tree" strong, mighty, growing, feeding their family line. Thank You for how You are answering our prayers! I pray all of this in the amazing name of Jesus, amen.

Daddy, I pray that we can all be filled with Your words, to our inner most being, so that we can pour into the lives of others. Help us to be wise with our words, speaking truth with love. Thank You! Amen.
