Do You Have Battle Wounds That Need Healing
Psalm 147:3-5 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit."
Each verse has a powerful truth in this whole chapter! The promise in verse 3 of being healed, is one we can all relate to and need to hang on to. Verse 4, the stars....have you ever been in a place where you look up, and see tons and tons of stars? Not only, are we descendants of Abraham and the number of saved Christians like the number of stars (can't even count them!) but God KNOWS EACH star!! He has a name for EACH one! I can hardly remember a class full of names.... billions of names? Wow! Verse 5, Gods power and understanding: great, unfailing, no limit! He created us. Every part of our being, is known by Him. He doesn't love like us people love. His understanding of us and our whole being, is even better than we know ourselves! Deep and intimate. Even on our yuckiest day, when we are fussy, snappy, emotional, worried, fearful, depressed, confused, sad.... He IS right IN that time with us! He already knows. Yet, He loves us anyway! No limits! No 'off days' for Him!
Grab hold and hang on to these promises. They are for YOU! Your Daddy loves you, unlike ANY one you know! He sees you as worthy and valuable! At your worst AND at your best! Thank Him for His unconditional love. Be blessed and productive today in all you do!
I just reread verse 3 and a MEF (minds eye flash) happened. A battle field. Soldiers all over the place. Wounded, hurt. Some a little, some a LOT. Someone is taking them to the medic tent. As they ENTER the door, things start to happen! Before the doctor even leans over and looks at them, their are being bound up. Their brokenness is being put back together! In a flash, there is a bandage or binding like gauze of sorts, that gets wrapped around them and their wounds. Then in a flash, it is their skin - no bandage! WOW!! This is exactly how God is with our brokenness on the inside! When we have emotional hurts and wounds, that seem to cut deep. Some even seem like a limb has been cut off! Jesus comes along, and God puts this amazing miracle salve and bandage on us, and heals us up! WOW!! Yes, I think sometimes we are allowed complete healing, and other times, we have a remaining scar. To me, the scar is to remind us of God and His healing power, NOT to remind us of the pain or the person that caused it. Today, if you have any scars that you keep looking at, or even holding on to because they are comfortable - let go! Let go of the scabs of fear, pain, hurt, victimness. Instead, allow God to fill you with the Holy Spirit, and bring healing of those wounds. Perhaps, He will even apply some amazing salve, and remove the scars too!
