New Day New Life


Ever feel like you need a “promise” that just hits the right spot at the right moment? Well, with my surgical intervention (weight loss surgery) adventure, these verses came like a BIG megaphone from God right to me at just the right time!

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

When I was contemplating having weight loss surgery, I was in a LOT of prayer! Of course I cried out asking God if this was really a way to help me, and see if He had any promises for me through it. I was actually in the book of Nehemiah at the time when they were rebuilding the temple. How the Lord provided a way for them through the king with not only permission but an abundance of needed materials! Well, these two verses came up after I had a “come to Jesus” moment and confessed all of the horrible things I had done and allowed into my body. I was guided to 1 Corinthians 6:19 where the Lord reminded me that my body is a temple for the Holy Spirit. Boy! I sure defiled, graffitied, broke down, made a complete mess of my “temple” which lead me to cry out again asking, “How on earth can You fix this Lord?!?!” Then He lovingly guided me to 2 Corinthians 5:17 which was lit up like a bright spotlight when I read it! A total promise from the Lord for me!

Well, my journey to “become new” has been an adventure to say the least LOL – but He has held true to this promise! He has given me new desires and cravings to healthy choices. He has been cleaning up the different inner parts of my being, in just the right way and time.

Today, James 5:15 jumped out at me, with a promise that I am just now realizing was ME! I was totally sick! Not only physically and mentally, but also spiritually. I prayed, cried out in complete faith, that He was going to do something miraculous – and He DID!! As soon as I realized and then confessed all I had done and been doing to my “temple” – He started lifting off the heaviness, started cleaning the grime, and He has taken me on the most incredible journey to New Life! Every day, I still pinch myself. I can’t hardly believe this new day He blesses me with. He grants me the free choice to make my choices: wise and healthy or not so wise and unhealthy. The great thing now: even when I do choose unhealthy – I don’t “live in it” for that long. I am much quicker to ‘clean house’ and get things straightened up.

You too can have these promises be YOURS!! He gave them to YOU too! Grab ahold, hang on, and just watch how He makes these promises real and alive in and for you! Be well my friend, be safe today out there, and be blessed BIG time!

How To Be Rich...In Good Works

1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17-19 “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."      What an amazing passage!! Even if we are not rich by our standards or the worlds...we CAN be 'rich in good works'! Being generous isn't always about money. It can be time, conversation, love, kindness... Remember, when we 'do to the least of these' we are doing it to/for Jesus. Today, you have the opportunity to 'experience true life' - you do!! How? How To Fill Your Home With Treasures

Proverbs‬ ‭24:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬ "A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense. Through knowledge its rooms are filled with all sorts of precious riches and valuables." What a beautiful MEF (minds eye flash) I had reading these verses. Looking at a piece of land, where a house is going to be built. It is bare, nothing there. Then all of a sudden, there is a foundation. However, the foundation has 'words' all over it! Words and sayings with phrases that are good and wise: foresight, experience, caution, knowledge, balance, learning.... Then there is a person, bent over, smoothing out the last bit of cement, and His name is Wisdom. I can just tell. It exudes from Him without Him even saying a word. In the way He moves, and with each stroke - there is purpose, reason, and a point of "end" that this is being done for. Then as if watching slow-motion, the house starts to build. What Does Twilight Look Like To You

Isaiah 21:4 (NIV) My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me. This chapter contains prophecies against  Babylon ,  Edom  and  Arabia . However, this verse jumped out at me for a different reason. First of all, I had a bit of an MEF (mind’s eye flash) of sitting on a porch overlooking the vast sky towards a big open space. Watching the sun set. Actually sitting there anticipating the setting sun and all of the colors that will be painted across the sky at twilight. How amazing and beautiful the sky becomes each and every night, as God uses it to create a magnificent canvas of art for us to enjoy! I am absolutely amazed each time I see His wonderful sunsets! Then the MEF changed. These verses reminded me of the times I have lost loved ones. How that beautiful night sky became a symbol of the fear, yes even horror of the night to come. Proverbs 17:1 (NASB) “ Better is a dry morsel and quietness with it than a house full of feasting with strife. ” What is it like at your dinner table? Do you even sit at the table together as a family? Sadly, most of us have gotten out of this amazing habit. Instead, we are eating either in front of the TV or at a computer. No real conversations with other people. How about the table when it is a holiday? When you are gathering family members for the day, or even just a few hours, what are the conversations like when it is time to eat? Do you sit down together at one big table, or at smaller ‘groupings’ of tables? Do you all just pick a spot and eat off your lap? What are the conversations that go on at these gatherings?
